Like all Voluntary Organisations there is a lot in the package of being a member. It is not just about coming along and Present a Radio Show for a few hours. It does come with the cost of ‘GETTING INVOLVED’. We ask you to help with Community Events, Children’s Gala days, the Concerts and Fund Raising events organised by Volunteers. The cost of having a history making FM Radio Station in the County is not free.
When Presenting a Show you have an army of listeners, unlike Internet music providers where you talk to yourself and a few Face Book pals. You Present and work on ‘state of the art’ Radio Broadcast equipment in nice, comfortable studios all of which has to be worked for?
East Coast made more history in 2016 by becoming the ‘first’ local Community Radio Station in Scotland to WIN National Radio Awards, 5 in total an amazing achievement by the team.
We have a lot of ‘fun’ at events and we also have nights out together for a meal or more. It is an exciting hobby and open to ALL AGES and to any Nationality as well as anyone who has to live with Special needs in their lives. 2 of the awards were for a young man who lives with Cerebral Palsy who presents a 30 minute show via his voice box (dynovox)
