Joseph & the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat Playhouse

Well – where an earth do I start with this amazing show?! Out of all the shows I have been to see and review this one tops the lot – it can be described in just two words: Utterly Superb!

Now I know what you are thinking –it’s a musical written by Andrew Lloyd Webber, it’s a production that has been done that many times before up and down the UK, nothing new to offer, that it’s probably so easy for the likes of yourself and your friends to compare notes on how one performance topped the other – but with this one currently at the Edinburgh Playhouse, it is quite the opposite in fact – it was utterly amazing, which is a strange one for me as musicals aren’t really my cup of tea! But see this production and you come out with a big smile on your face, knowing that you don’t need to compare notes with anyone!

The whole two and a quarter hour show from start to finish was utterly fantastic – even down to the kids choir! All the actors and actresses played their parts very, very well – so much so I’m even singing the songs from tonight’s performance as I write this review! The props for this show were something else too – really made you feel as though you were in the area when the events took place all those many, many years ago!

All in all then a really must go and see show – families would really enjoy this one – it’s entertaining in a really nice way – and it’s not at all cheesy! This show runs to Saturday 21st February and is a real must go to!
